In the final seconds, pure elation erupted for Chelsea and caretaker boss Calum McFarlane as Enzo Fernández bundled in a dramatic equaliser. The goal left Pep Guardiola ranting in frustration and gifted the temporary Chelsea manager a unforgettable moment. On paper, Guardiola versus McFarlane could be billed as the Premier League's most pronounced managerial mismatch in class, making the recollection of Fernández's pivotal intervention one to warm the 40-year-old in his dotage.

A Stark Contrast in Experience

On the City bench was the generation's pre-eminent figure, a man with four decades of silverware for elite clubs Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City, taking charge of his 1,012th match.
