Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been won on hardcourt
A comeback Daniil Medvedev won his maiden title for over two years with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament championship match.
The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a difficult season, achieving just one match at the big events and undergoing a setback at the American major.
The player's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serve in specific - resulted in him exiting of the world's top 10 and ultimately splitting with long-time mentor his previous coach.
Now working with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually improved in the last few weeks - peaking in a tightly fought three-set triumph over challenger Moutet.
It is the player's initial championship since the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard surface after March of that year.
Success also indicates the Russian has achieved 21 championships at twenty-one different events.
"For the first time I'm at a tournament with my two daughters simultaneously, so to win a title is really nice," stated ranked player the champion.
"This title is in tribute of my younger daughter her name, because the first title I achieved when my older daughter her name was born was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had failed in his previous six championship matches, comprising in that event in the past months.
The player's counter-punching strategy and recurring reactions on the tennis court had led some to doubt if his ability to compete at the top level was concluded.
But the player has altered his approach in the past month, attempting to come to the net and compete aggressively, supported by an improved serve.
The champion fought back from a deficit in the initial set against the challenging Frenchman, securing four of the final five exchanges to go ahead.
Both players swapped break points in the middle set before the Frenchman, bidding for his maiden tour championship, gained dominance to create a third set.
He defended four early chances in a tight deciding set before the champion secured a break to 15 to serve for the match.
Appropriately, he secured victory with a rally at the net, with Moutet incapable to handle a shot after over two and a half hours.
