FC Barcelona Ready for First Fixture at Upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday

Barcelona have announced they are set to host at the still-under-construction Camp Nou on Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit Athletic Bilbao in La Liga two and a half years following their departure so building work could begin.

“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Not all seats will be available but 45,401 spectators can be present based on approved permits. Once fully finished, it will accommodate close to 105,000 fans, increasing from the former 99,000. The club said finished work included a new players’ tunnel and new dressing rooms.

Preparatory Events

Barça organized a public practice at the Camp Nou in early November. The club said they were hoping for permission by UEFA for their upcoming Champions League fixture against Eintracht Frankfurt on 9 December in the renovated venue. Their recent games have been held at the Olympic Stadium.
