Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Deadly Car Crash

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, officials in Lagos confirmed on late Wednesday. The 36-year-old was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on the 29th of December, a horrific crash that claimed the lives of two of his team members.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The sports star had remained in the hospital while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his management team confirmed on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on X that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.

“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two friends who passed away as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the commissioner stated.

Remembering the Victims

The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. The official further stated that the champion was filled with sorrow and deeply emotional over the passing of his two trusted companions.”
